Program Description

Morning drive from hotels to the turtle hatchery in Kosgoda, then a visit to the workshop in Ambalangoda, where traditional Sri Lankan masks are carved. Next, drive to Galle, a city consisting of two parts: a UNESCO-listed 17th century historic fort protruding into the sea, and a newer part located on the mainland. Galle Fort is the largest surviving port city built by Europeans in Asia. There are many monuments of Dutch colonial architecture here, the oldest of which are up to 400 years old. Drive to Balapitiya and take a boat cruise along the scenic Madu River. Return to hotels.
